SMART DEVICES

Interactive and Programmable Smart Device Projects for Kids

The Internet of things (IoT) is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines provided with unique identifiers (UIDs) and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction, such as  the smart home,  smartphones and smart speakers.

The concept of hooking up physical devices and letting them talk to each other is great, but how do you get started? How do you get useful data from them?

Micro.bit and Sensor Modules

The Micro.bit is an open source hardware ARM-based embedded system designed by the BBC for use in computer education. Micro:bit offers the easiest and most effective learning tool for digital skills and creativity. We also give students opportunity to work with various common sensors, such as LED module, temperature sensor, photocell Sensor, ultrasonic sensor etc, to make some interesting projects like traffic Light, magnetic check, temperature test, joystick test, and photo-interrupter test, and so on.

The programming languages used includes Scratch, MakeCode and MicroPython.

Raspberry Pi and Sensor Modules

Raspberry Pi is a series of small single-board computers developed in the United Kingdom by the Raspberry Pi Foundation to promote teaching of basic computer science in schools. It now is widely used even in research projects because of its low-cost and portability.

Raspberry Pi platform offers students opportunity to understand all the electronic components for your Raspberry Pi and build some simple circuits and devices and interface them to GPIO Input/Output pins. We also give students opportunity to work with various common sensors, such as LED module, temperature sensor, photocell Sensor, ultrasonic sensor and IR sensor, etc, to make some interesting projects like traffic Light, magnetic check, temperature test, joystick test, and photo-interrupter test, and so on.

The programming languages used includes Python, Java and C.
